Celebrate America’s 250th — and Discover the Family Connections That Helped Shape a Nation!
As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of American independence, join us for a memorable evening celebrating Moorestown’s remarkable connection to the Declaration of Independence — and the family ties that continue to connect us today.
In the summer of 1776, while daily life carried on along King’s Highway, Moorestown native Timothy Matlack was in Philadelphia helping shape the course of history. As secretary to the Continental Congress, Matlack is widely recognized as the man who penned the final handwritten Declaration of Independence.

On July 2, gather with friends, neighbors, and perhaps even distant cousins at Double Nickel Brewing Company for an evening of history, camaraderie, storytelling, and celebration.
The evening will feature:

●  Brief remarks by Chris Coelho, author of Timothy Matlack, Scribe of the Declaration

●  A celebration of the Matlack family legacy and the many branches of the family tree that spread far beyond Moorestown

●  Opportunities to connect with fellow descendants and history enthusiasts

●  The famous Dusty Road Sundae from Matlack’s Dairy Bar

●  Washington’s Beer, specially brewed by Double Nickel Brewing Company in honor of  Moorestown’s 250th celebration

Enjoy light fare, craft beer, ice cream, and lively conversation as we honor the spirit of America’s founding generation and the local families whose stories became part of the nation’s history.
