Dare to Walk Moorestown’s Haunted Heartland
As twilight falls over Kings Highway, the veil between worlds thins. Join us for an unforgettable journey through Moorestown’s spectral past, where colonial spirits whisper from old brick walls, Revolutionary soldiers march under the moonlight, and voices from centuries past call out from beneath autumn leaves. Our acclaimed Ghosts & Living History Walking Tours return this October with new stories, new phantoms, and a powerful message from the past: History isn’t finished with us yet!
👣 What You’ll Encounter on the Tour:
🔮 The Haunted Kings Highway
A path once trampled by redcoats, rebels, and Quaker exiles—now rumored to echo with ghostly footsteps. Meet the Night Watchman who still guards the town… whether it needs him or not.
⚔️ Revolutionary Spirits
Hear tales of Hessian soldiers, slain on retreat from Philadelphia in 1778, said to return looking for stolen livestock and unfinished business. Their ghostly march still startles midnight strollers.
🚂 The Railroad Specter
At the old crossing near Chester Avenue, the spirit of a long-forgotten brakeman still signals trains that no longer come. Is he warning us… or summoning something darker?
💜 Suffragists from the Beyond
Catherine B. Lippincott and her sisters of the movement are said to haunt the town square, fighting for human rights even in the afterlife. Listen closely—you may hear their rallying cries in the wind.
🍂 The Spirits of Smith-Cadbury Mansion
Where the tour begins—and where it might end. Tales of lost lovers, phantom music, and footsteps in empty rooms have surrounded this house for generations.
🌙✨Special performance for one night only Friday October 17th at 7:30pm and 8:30pm🌙✨
The strength of the Underground Railroad came from ordinary people who risked everything to help enslaved men and women find freedom. Among the most legendary of them all was Harriet Tubman — the fearless “conductor” who made dozens of journeys South to North, leading hundreds to liberty. Tubman’s story is tied to South Jersey, where she worked in Cape May hotels to fund her missions and passed through secret sites along her Underground Railroad passages. And now, rumor has it that on the night of October 17th she will be leading a band of fugitives up the King’s Highway — right through Moorestown. Experience this unforgettable moment in living history as Dr. Daisy Century — acclaimed actress, historian, and Smithsonian-recognized performer — brings Harriet Tubman to life with power, authenticity, and heart.
☠️🌙Special performance for one night only Saturday October 25th at 7:30pm and 8:30pm ☠️🌙 The Ghost Who Spoke Truth
On a cold October night, the veil will tear… and a voice long silenced will rise again. From the darkness comes Sojourner Truth, once enslaved, forever unbroken, the fearless woman who walked out of bondage and never stopped fighting for justice. Her ghost returns with unfinished business, summoning us to face the shadows of slavery, the chains of inequality, and the echoes of her most haunting question: “Ain’t I a Woman?” Portrayed by the extraordinary Dr. Daisy Century, Sojourner will walk among Moorestown’s restless spirits for one night only. Her story will chill your bones, stir your soul, and remind you that some truths refuse to stay buried.
