Ophelia Harris
An interview conducted on March 13, 2006 by Richard Garvin of the Historical Society with Ophelia Harris at her home in Moorestown. Mrs. Harris was born in Virginia in 1915 and moved to Mt Laurel with her family when she was 5 and soon after came to Moorestown. Read her memories here.

Gertrude Williams
An interview conducted on March 14, 1977 by Margaret Jackson.
Gertrude was the first Black graduate of Moorestown High School in 1907. After going to teacher’s college at the Hampton Institute in Virginia, she returned to teach at Moorestown’s School #7 for 48 years. Read her memories here.
